Primary Indicators:

• # People Who Find Jobs
• # Jobs Created Through New Businesses

Our strategy to increase the number of people in Oracabessa who have good jobs has revolved around providing vocational training so persons can be workforce ready.

To this end, the Foundation has partnered with some of Jamaica's leading programs designed to provide business skills and channel Jamaican’s natural entrepreneurial spirit.

The H.E.A.R.T. Trust

The H.E.A.R.T Trust NTA is Jamaica’s National Training Agency. The Foundation partnered with the community of Jacks River (about 1.5 miles outside of Oracabessa) to start a H.E.A.R.T sanctioned community-based training centre. To date the centre has graduated just over 300 persons in Housekeeping, Waitering and Villa Services.  Nearly 50% of students graduating from the centre are currently employed.
